1. Sticky:Dev Blog: Behind the scenes of a long EVE Online downtime! - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
Illuminating. But worryingly, I got the distinct impression that CCP figured out what was causing the problem but not why - unless the underlying cause of the logging issues has since been determined?

2. Advice for protecting a Retriever - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Two things matter with regards to aligning to warp out: the direction of your velocity vector, and your speed. You'll go into warp if/when your velocity hits 75% of your ship's maximum and your velocity vector is in line with your destination; acc...

3. Good & Serious Websites for Ship Fittings - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
One source I check is EVE University; their wiki's articles on the various ships will often have multiple suggested setups for various tasks and skill levels. As the ships get more skill-intensive and expensive, the number of fits per ship will dr...

4. Sticky:Dev blog: Politics by Other Means: Sovereignty Phase Two - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
Question from left field (I tried searching the thread but came up empty). If a station goes into freeport mode under this new system, what will happen to repair services? One quirk I recall from my times in null is that station owners can set in...

7. Raising standing from -4.0 - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
It may be mentioned elsewhere in the "Plan" links, but taking a few days to run the Sisters of EVE L1 Epic Arc will give you a nice bump in standings towards the empire faction of your choice, with no standing loss to any of the other empires. (Fo...

8. Announcement:Update regarding Multiboxing and input automation - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
By the way, out of curiosity, what's the difference between Input Broadcasting and Input Multiplexing? (I ask as someone who'd be more likely to use ISBoxer to store frozen veggies than to slave multiple ships to one controller.)

9. Announcement:Update regarding Multiboxing and input automation - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Seems clear enough: slaving multiple ships to one set of controls is going to be a violation as of New Year's Day. And since CCP can presumably access input logs, and determine how well synchronized a group of ships is, they can make a reasonably ...

11. Tachyon laser question related to incursions - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
I don't know about VG fleets, but in shield HQ fleets, the preference has been for Nightmares to go with tachyons instead of pulses - it's the top sniper platform, so it's probably best to fit it to its strengths. Combining the NM's tracking bonu...

12. Incursions - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The top-tier fleets may have elitist tendencies, but WarpToMe and others do make a point of taking in incursion neophytes. There are lower-skill fittings for people who are still in the process of training, and there are some fits based on T1 batt...

13. Transporting Fitted and Rigged ships in a carrier - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The rule of thumb: if it can be loaded into a module, it's ammunition, and can be in a ship's cargo hold if it goes into a ship maintenance bay. However, I think (check me if I'm wrong) that any ammo in modules will get unloaded into the cargo bay...

14. Wormhole navigation - High sec to nul & vice versa possible? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
One thing I've never quite understood, not having done much wormhole diving: when you talk about a direct high-to-null or low-to-null wormhole, does that mean that there's one wormhole system in between with connections to both the high/low system...

18. What kind of mining set up should I use? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I'd say that if you're going to mine, keep at least one eye on the screen, and if you have to go AFK, either dock up, or find a safe and logout until you can come back. Barring some ISBoxer rolling through with a bunch of zombie barges, the rocks ...

19. Nanite Paste: how to use and what it fixes. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
To clarify: nanite paste only repairs modules that are inactive and only partially damaged. If a module is 100% damaged (that's the point at which it gets knocked offline), then it can only be fixed in a station repair facility.

20. Station offices - prices - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The thing is, office rent prices vary by time, not just by location. If there are a lot of unused offices, the rent goes down; if there aren't any empty offices, the rent goes up. I've seen stations where rent doubled within a month, and I've seen...
